History of LARC DVS

LARC DVS began in 1981 when a group of volunteers decided they were no longer going to tolerate sexual violence in our area. These pioneers were true advocates for taking care of any victims that were identified and provided services. In 1985 the agency began providing domestic violence services and hired the first staff members. The shelter house was donated in 1987 for individuals to have a safe place away from their perpetrators. Over the years since, the agency has begun providing services for stalking.

What started out as the vision of dedicated community volunteers has grown into an agency that serves hundreds of survivors and their support systems every year.

Mission

The LARC DVS is a non-profit organization serving Grant, Haskell, Morton, Seward, Stanton and Stevens Counties by providing safety and support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking by working to eliminate these crimes.
